MSN profiles are a kind of personal homepage for MSN Messenger
users. This feature will allow other users to display information on
your location, your hobbies, even display a picture of you so that
they can check you out. What would this be useful for then? Well if
you want to meet people with similar interests that you have, or if
you're looking for a single person of the opposite sex in the same
area, this is something that you can easily find with this feature.
How do I view a MSN profile?
Log into your MSN Messenger account, open the main window, and
Right-Click on one of your contacts in your contact list, and
select: View MSN Profile from the list. This will open a new window
in your browser, and link you to the profile of that contact. If you
wish to search for new people, you will have to go to the site
http://members.msn.com and there you can search for a new contact
with lots of preferences to filter out just the person you're
looking for.
How do I create a MSN profile?
To create your own MSN profile, be sure that you are logged in to
your MSN Messenger account, then open up your MSN Messenger main
window, and click the Tools menu and select Options. In your
Personal Options tab (you can select from the list to the left), you
will have a button that says Edit Profile, click this button and MSN
Messenger should open up a page in your default browser in which you
will create your profile.
Now it will ask you for some
information that you must enter, like your Birth Date and your
Location. After you've finished, click the Continue button, and it
will ask you for a Nickname, remember to pick something that people
who are looking for you could figure out, also remember that there
are A LOT of taken MSN profile nicknames, so you might have to add
another word to the nickname, or a number. If you're asked to enter
a new nickname, the one you picked is probably already taken. Click
the Save button to continue. Now
you hve the ability to add information about yourself to your
profile, you can enter your Full Name, Region or Province, Age,
Gender and write lists of your Interests, Favourite Objects,
Favourite Quotes and so on. At the bottom of this screen you will be
able to change the Colours for your personal profile, so check some
of the features out and click the Save button to finish the creation
of your profile.
Alright, now your profile is ready, if you
want to add a picture, you do that here. You can also add
information to your profile from here. If you want to edit your
information later on, just click the Edit Profile button from the
Personal Tab in the Options menu.
