Since MSN Messenger version 5 you've been able to
save your MSN Contact list.
They're are many reasons why you might want to save your MSN
Contacts list - perhaps you want to change your email address and
with it your MSN login. Or perhaps you want to back it up in case
something goes wrong on Microsoft's servers.
Sometimes
accounts are hacked or corrupted on the MSN servers. In this cruel
world we have to watch our backs, in real life and when we are on
the internet. Its important to backup your MSN Contact List! If you
loose your e-mail, your MSN contact list is also lost. In order to
minimize potential MSN contact list losses MSN Messenger facilitates
saving and restoring MSN contact lists.
Saving MSN Contact Lists
In order to save your MSN contacts list you must be
Connected
to the Internet Logged into MSN Messenger/Windows
Live Messenger
Click "Contacts" (MSN Contacts) on the
top window of the MSN Messenger window there will be the option for
"Contacts". Once you click on "Save Contact List... " (MSN Contacts
list). Name your MSN contact list and save it somewhere you can
remember. Do not change the ending extension of it because it saves
as a .ctt (MSN messenger contact list).
Importing MSN Contact Lists
You must be connected to the internet and
connected to MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger.
Click "Contacts" (MSN Contacts) on the top window of the MSN
Messenger window there will be the option for "Contacts".. Once you
click on "Import Contacts from a File " it will open a load window
for your MSN contact list. Find your MSN contacts list file
(filename.ctt) and load it. Your MSN Contact List will be
automatically added all at once!
